Secret Church is a unique, one-night event that is simulcast to over 50,000 people around the world. Encouraged by our persecuted brothers and sisters’ example, we meet for over 6 hours for intense study of God’s Word and passionate prayer for the persecuted.

The theme this year is “The Great Imbalance.” Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. Secret Church 21 is designed to be a journey through God’s Word and around the world. Your eyes will be opened to the great imbalance that is affecting countless people for eternity. You will also to be introduced to the great opportunity we have to change the world.

The idea behind Secret Church comes from time David Platt spent teaching and ministering among underground Asian house-churches. Due to hostility from the government, from the surrounding community, and even from their own family, many of our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world are forced to gather in secret, sometimes at the risk of their lives.

The plight of our persecuted brothers and sisters also explains why prayer for the persecuted church is a major part of every Secret Church gathering. We remember those who cannot meet openly, asking God to sustain their faith, to change the hearts and the actions of their persecutors, and to use their witness for the spread of the gospel.

Secret Church 2021 – “The Great Imbalance”

Go and make disciples of all nations. A clear command and monumental charge from Jesus. Yet what if, despite our best intentions and sincerest efforts as the church to obey Jesus, we are actually ignoring what He said? At best, what if we have misunderstood Him? Further, what if much of our efforts are keeping you and me from experiencing God’s purpose for our lives?
